Umbrella newsletter: April 2026 – my newly released book can now be accessible to over 600 million people – with your help

Spanish is the second most spoken native language in the world (after Mandarin), so I’ve long wanted my book, Rainwater Harvesting for Drylands and Beyond, Volume 1, in Spanish, especially as I live in the borderlands shared with Mexico (and have cross-pollinated many ideas and inspiration with Spanish-speaking water harvesters).

Tired of waiting for a Spanish-language publisher to take my book on, I decided to self-fund and self-publish it (just as I did with the English editions of my books).

But, as with the English editions, I need your help to get the word out; get it purchased, and get it into the hands, minds, and actions of others.

YOU (you are my marketing team) CAN HELP BY…
buying the book;

rating & reviewing it – if you like it – on book store websites & social media (this really helps);

• asking libraries, Spanish-language bookstores, & Spanish-language book distributors to carry it;

spreading the word on BOTH the book and my new Spanish-language website!

I’ve been working on this book for years with a great team of translators – all people – no AI.

Spanish uses more words than English, so the book got bigger, and more costly to produce.

But it also got more valuable as I’ve added much new info, images, and an additional inspiring case study from Mexico.

I kick off promotion of the book with a number of events in Mexico City this April.

Check out the Events page of my website for more details.

My new Spanish-language website CosechaDeAguaDeLluvia.com is now live!

Please share with your Spanish-speaking friends and family.

Additionally, I’ve made my water-harvesting websites bilingual!

Look to the top right corner of my website’s webpages.
If you see:

or

click on it, and it will take you to the version of the webpage in that language.

I don’t have all webpages bilingual, but I’m working on it.

I don’t use AI to translate.
Instead, I use the great team of people that translated my book headed by chief translator Azucena Del Carmen Garza Bulger.
