I list my favorite plant nurseries/suppliers for various regions by the state in which they are found (listed in alphabetical order). These nurseries are particularly good for native plants and/or multi-use plants (edible, medicinal, crafts, wildlife habitat, forage, windbreak species, etc.)

    A gentle, family run operation with good fruit tree selection. Some native plants.

  • Civano Nursery

    Good nursery on the southeast side of town with natives and fruit trees.

  • Coronado Heights Nursery

    Owner Bernie operates this nursery in her back yard beside her husband’s native seed company - Wildlands Restoration. They’re great people and Bernie can take contract grow-outs. She propagates her plants in extra deep pots which encourage deeper root growth and greater success in survival rates. This is not typically a retail business.

Focusing on varieties that are drought tolerant and adapted to high Ph, we grow species trees, shrubs and grafted fruits. We grow in 12″, 16″ and 18 inch root control bags. Our stock is grown with organic certified fertilizer. We have many heirloom and uncommon varieties of grafted apples, plums, pears and cherries. Our grafts are on rootstocks carefully selected to match climate and soil types in this area.
